Happy Rainy Wednesday!

Here are the creations the little Bobbin's painted yesterday - it was very messy and quite amusing to see them both concentrating so hard!

Unfortunately the bunny got dropped this morning and he is now headless and much mourned! Looks like we will be off to get some more!

Half Term - Enough Said!

Half Term Fun!!

This image is from FPTFY

Apologies for the lack of posts the last week. I have been busy putting things together for the numerous craft fairs that we will be attending in the next few months, not totally sure how I am going to get everything done??!? That and I haven't even started on my monthly make yet! It is also half term now so I am frantically trying to keep the little Bobbin's amused. We went to a soft play centre today (hell on earth - don't even get me started on that one!!) I knew it would be a bad idea to go during half term but we had to get out and let off some steam.

So we have retreated home and they are now sat painting Easter money boxes that we bought at Hobby Craft on the way home. For £2.99 each they have been sat here quietly entertained for about 45 mins now (which is pretty good going for my 2 and 4 year old!) - so I think we may be back down there later in the week to buy some more!! Think the grandparents may be getting some lovely chickens and bunnies! I will post pictures of their "master pieces" later on. I hope the weather picks up, I really want to try my new camera outside!

Well, that's it for now, hope you are having a lovely week and those of you on half term with your brood I wish you a fun-filled and as sane as possible time!

Fairy Toadstool Cakes!

This morning I thought I would turn my very inexperienced baking hands to making some toadstool fairy cakes. It was very messy - but I have to confess, a lot easier with one little Bobbin - the other was at nursery. Also slightly perturbed at the amount of red food colouring I needed to add to get anywhere near close to a "toadstool" red - think there may be a few bouncing kids around here this afternoon!! I need to work on getting the icing consistency just right, but hey, they taste good!

I best go clean up now!

Back on Track

Finally, after what seems like months, I have been able to get back to creating for my Etsy shop and upcoming craft fairs. I think I ran out of steam after the rush of Christmas orders! It has been really nice to start putting some of my ideas into action. We have a  craft fair coming up at the end of March and I always seem to be able to work better when I have a specific date to work to - probably a left over habit from my days of working on a huge sales target quarter to quarter (something I don't overly miss!!)

This is something I have been working on over the last few days. It's an idea I have had floating around my head for some time now and I think it is very Bella Bobbin. I thought I would try it out first as an appliqué hoop for hanging but might develop the design into other things, a cushion, a journal cover - ideas welcome!!

It's all hand-stitched

I have used Cotton and Felt

The bunting rope is pink bakers twine - it's my new favourite thing!

I am going to list this in our Bella Bobbin shop - hopefully to be followed by lots of other things I am working on!!

Tea-Time

I promised the little Bobbin's that I would make fairy cakes with them on Wednsday, major melt down when it turned out we had no baking powder left. So to make up for my almost unforgivably lax approach to my baking inventory I took the littlest Bobbin to the big orange supermarket yesterday to fill her boots with the prettiest sprinkles and icing. We had a lot of fun making these cakes yesterday afternoon:

The light when I took these photos wasn't great, but my guess was that these cakes wouldn't be around to capture this morning - and I was correct!
